I thought all week about what my first proper post should be and despite a lot of to-ing and fro-ing I couldn't shake the notion that I should introduce my first and main love in 40k. So, without further ado, here's some Red Scorpions.......

A new author - me!

Hi all.

In the real world I'm Iain Miller but some of you may know me as either daddy troll (Warhammer forum) or old git (B&C). I've known Gaz for quite a few years now, he and I share a similar view of what 40k should be about and so he asked me to pen an article or two to, I hope, complement his own. This is all new to me so I'm not sure where this will take me. Maybe a bit of background will help you understand where I come from, in hobby terms.

I was dragged into the war gaming hobby in the late 80s by 3rd ed Fantasy. 40k soon piqued my interest and gradually took over my hobby time and effort to the point where I stopped fantasy altogether in its 6th edition. Other games came and went - Bloodbowl, Flames of War etc but 40k was, and still is my main interest, some might say obsession.

I know Gary's blog is all about chaos, and I do have a large-ish khorneate force (The Red Tide) but at heart I'm what Gary would call an imperial lapdog. My primary collection is around 10k points worth of Red Scorpions and I'm currently building, amongst other lesser projects, a drop pod based Minotaurs force.

Enough for now. Once I set myself up properly with ideas and pics I'll show some of my stuff and amaze you all with my ramblings. See you soon.

The Cold Steel Mercs Invitational 2017 - Call of the Dragon

Placing the lash on the table and picking up the glass of wine, Nestor stepped back to admire his handiwork.
The angry crimson pattern scored into the flesh contrasted beautifully with his victim’s white alabaster skin.
Quenching his thirst he picked up the lash again, holding it to his mouth he bit into the leather, working in the wine to soften the leather even further. Sweat, wine and blood mingled on his tongue, his Omophagea quickly absorbed the blood-encoded sensations of fear and torment making the Slaanesh Lord sigh with pleasure.
The piercing screams had subsided now to a soft, low moan; lending an almost rhythmic bass to the music that filled the room.
For the briefest of moments the smell of blood, sweat and wine mixed with the perfumed oils threatening to overwhelm his senses, but as quickly as he welcomed the sensation, it had already begun to fade.
Nestor’s vox crackled into life, dispelling the last traces of the experience and leaving his jaded soul empty once again.

A shudder ran down Nestor’s spine as he listened to his Sorcerer’s message…..”The Dragon summons you.”

Work continues on Nestor's new ride, not quite at the pace I was hoping for but the build is almost complete. One or two people have been asking how it's going (so many impatient readers on here!), so I thought I'd show the progress I've made......

The Fall of Terra

Greetings Sinners!
Bolter & Chainsword have a great little event going in the Chaos Space Marine Forum called The Fall of Terra. It's a project designed to encourage Chaos Warlords to start or add to their Warband and give each other a (much needed, in my case) incentive to complete our forces.
I jumped at the chance to participate, so I decided to start off with a small manageable project so as not to over-face me. Unfortunately, the best laid schemes of mice and men gang aft agley!

The Long Wait is over, now let's get back to the Long War!
