"Damn, old man, is there anywhere in Rockridge that you don't know how to get to unseen?" asked Howling Mad Mave, clearly impressed by the old Grubber's knowledge.
"When you've been around for as long as I have kid, you get to know these things." he replied.
"You must have been around for a good while then!" Mocked the young prospect.
"Ah huh, I'm older than I look" he grinned.
Years of grime and dust showered the Regulators as Grimy strained to lift the grate into the bowels of the Precinct.
"Remember, we're here for the Data-Stack and nothing else, don't even think about looting the upper levels." Ordered Brigitte. "This information could determine our home's future, nothing else matters." she continued, looking each Regulator squarely in the eye.
One by one the Regulators nodded.
The noise of the door opening attracted the attention of an Enforcer. Grimy edged out of cover to fire off a round but the shot missed. The enforcer returned fire but the shot merely ricocheted from the Goliath Bully's cover.
Howling Mad Mave charged blindly into the patrolman and took him Out of Action with her Chainsword.
As Brigitte made to move through the door, a Frag Grenade slammed into her from an Enforcer Subjugator. Fortunately for the Escher leader her armour withstood the blast.
With the Subjugator distracted by Brigitte, Grimy seized the opportunity to move forward and unload his Bolter into him. Two bolt rounds slammed into him, Seriously Injuring the Subjugator.
In the south of the Precinct, WR-41-TH dragged the bound Scrutinator with him and unloaded his Plasma Gun at an Enforcer patrolling the corridor. The Scrutinator's struggles obviously disrupted his aim and the shot missed.
The Patrolman reacted, showering WR-41-TH in a hail of Bolter rounds but they all flew wide.
...before moving on towards the unsuspecting Enforcer sergeant patrolling the north of the Precinct.
Brigitte manoeuvred through the maze of corridors to come out behind the Enforcer that was in a fire-fight with the Ad-Mech Specialist and gunned the patrolman down with her Bolter.
In the north of the Precinct, Grimy charged the unsuspecting Sergeant and the Goliath Bully effortlessly took him Out of Action.
With the lower level of the Precinct cleared, the Regulators made their way towards the Precinct vault.
With no unexpected arrivals, the Regulators gathered outside of the vault.
WR-41-TH held the Scrutinator's face to the security sensor to unlock the vault...
...then unlocked the crate to verify the Data-Stack held within.
With the possible answer to all of their questions in their possession, the Regulators made for their exit point. As they moved out of the vault the Scrutinator Servalen slammed her shoulder into WR-41-TH forcing the Ad-Mech Specialist out of the vault still clinging to the precious Data-Stack. Before any of the other Regulators could react the Scrutinator activated the door sealing herself inside and activated the security alarm.
Enforcer reinforcements entered the Precinct lower level as the Regulators prepared to make a dash for the exit.
As the band moved forward they were ambushed by a Sanctioner Pattern Automata. Grimy attempted to bring it down with his Boltgun but the Goliath Bully's aim was off.
Howling Mad Mave hurtled down the corridor to close on an Enforcer trying to catch the Regulators in a crossfire. The startled Enforcer rushed his shot and the Boltgun rounds flew wide.
WR-41-TH moved forward to support the beleaguered Goliath. The Ad-Mech Specialist blasted the Sanctioner from its feet with his Plasma Gun but caused no damage.
The jaws of the Enforcer ambush snapped closed as a Subjugator blasted WR-41-TH from his feet with his Grenade Launcher.
The Ad-Mech Specialist was thrown to the ground losing a wound in the process but still clung to the precious Data-Stack.
With no reinforcements arriving for the Enforcers the Subjugator moved towards the interlopers. As he prepared his Grenade Launcher to fire on the Goliath, WR-41-TH stepped from the shadows, and charging his Plasma Gun to maximum, blasted him from his feet taking the Subjugator Out of Action.
With no Enforcer reinforcements arriving the Regulators made good with their escape and descended into the welcoming 'safety' of the tunnels below.
"Climb." Ordered WR-41-TH, shoving the bound and battered Scrutinator Primus Servalen towards the ladders.
The Regulators scoured the west side of the Precinct vaults and were relieved to discover the area clear.
Without a word they crept forward, carefully listening for sounds of potential trouble.
Brigitte and WR-41-TH carefully examined the locked doors...
...the Escher leader nodded to WR-41-TH and both Regulators activated the door panels.
Grimy charged into the Seriously Injured Subjugator and took the helpless 'lawman' Out of Action...
Howling Mad Mave charged into the Enforcer who had attempted to put the Regulators in a crossfire but the patrolman turned aside her attacks using his Bolter to catch her Chainsword swings. The 'lawman' used all his experience and managed to Manacle the Orlock Prospect.
Brigitte moved forward and blasted the Santioner from its feet with her Boltgun. This time the Regulator's fire power caused some damage and the Automata was stripped of two wounds.
WR-41-TH climbed to his feet as yet another Enforcer joined the ambush. The Ad-Mech Specialist dived into cover as the patrolman sprayed the area with his Shotgun, catching Brigitte and Grimy with his Salvo...
Grimy laughed at the derisory fire power but the Brigitte took the full brunt and the Escher leader lost a wound.
Grimy was the first to recover from the fusillade and he returned fire with his Boltgun. Unfortunately for the Goliath his aim was off.
Brigitte leapt to her feet and opened up on the Automata but the Escher Leader's efforts came to naught.
Grimy charged into the Shotgun armed Enforcer and hacked him apart with his Brute Cleaver.
The Automata climbed to its feet again and launched a grenade at Brigitte but its sensors were obviously damaged and the grenade flew harmlessly wide.
WR-41-TH added his fire power to the cause and stripped the final wounds from the Sanctioner reducing its toughness in the process with his Plasma Gun.
With the Sanctioner damaged, Grimy used his Stimm Slugs to boost his effectiveness and charged into the Automata. In a flurry of blows the Goliath Bully reduced it to scrap metal.
The manacled Orlock Prospect struggled against her assailant's attacks. Mave blocked his blows, head-butting the Enforcer to send him reeling back into the wall. The Enforcer's screams about his broken nose and what he was going to do to her was cut short however as Brigitte put a Bolt round straight through his head.
Well that went better than we expected.
The Regulators performed admirably against the Enforcers although only Grimy managed to make it through unscathed with the rest bleeding out and Mave manacled to a dead patrolman!
Luck was certainly with us though as we never rolled for any extra reinforcements. Just one additional Enforcer could have finished off Brigitte, Mave or WR-41-TH so we'll raise a glass of Second Best to the Hive Spirits π

The Escher Leader managed two kills in this game but she was down to one wound and she was lucky that there was no extra Enforcers to put the pressure on her.

The Ad-Mech Specialist managed only one kill but he did damage the Enforcer Sanctioner Automata, making it easier for Grimy to take it down.

The Orlock Wrecker only made one kill this game and spent most of her time unlocking doors for the rest of the Regulators...when she wasn't manacled to a lawmen and trying to bite his face off!

The Goliath Bully had a blinder and took out four Enforcers, one of which was the Sanctioner Pattern Automata. Grimy dragged the pieces of it back to the Regulator's hideout and traded it in for a Ambot.

Servalen grimaced as the the Medicae Servitor plunged the syringe into her mangled hand.
"Apologies Scrutinator Primus" droned the servitor. "Any discomfort will be short lived now the anaesthetic has been delivered."
'Not as short lived as it will be for that Renegade Ad-Mech when I get my hands on him' thought Servalen looking at the wreckage of her hand.
"I regret to inform you that the injury is quite severe and it will require several surgeries to repair the damage" continued the Servitor in its monotone voice.
A knock on the door spared the Scrutinator from any more of the Servitor's derisory bed-manner.
"Enter!"
An Enforcer sergeant entered holding a Data-Slate, looking decidedly uncomfortable in Servalen's presence.
"A reply to your missive has been received from Firebase Tiberius." Stammered the ill at ease patrolman holding out the message.
"Thank you sergeant."
She inputted her security clearance on the Data-Slate and began to read, oblivious to the Enforcer's obvious discomfort.
A chilling grin spread across her face as she continued reading.
'Your doom approaches' she thought. 'The rise of the Regulators will soon fall'
