Necromunda Terrain Tile 2 - The Winchester

Greetings Sinners!

Things have been a bit slow around here just lately. I've been waiting (im)patiently for 40k to settle down and for GW to release the required FAQ for the Chaos Space Marine Codex.....thankfully the wait was worth it and it won't be long before I'm busy beavering away on my Castigators once again.

I haven't been completely idle though, for the last couple of weeks I've been immersing myself in the background of my small corner of grimdark. For me, 40k has always been about the background and the atmosphere that it invokes rather than crushing my opponents into the dirt. With rumours of Necromunda finally coming to fruition and Shadow Wars and Path to Glory occupying my thoughts I turned, once again to building more terrain so that Rob and I can kick off with our Path to Glory campaign.

I wanted this tile to be a 'sister tile' to my first effort. I built the tavern quite a while ago and Rob christened it the Winchester.

The Noise Marine gives an idea of scale.....rumours that he has hit the bottle pretty hard after reading the Chaos Codex are greatly exaggerated ;-)

The shacks were really easy to build, but they did prove to be time consuming.....

.......I am pleased with how it's turned out though.

Here are the two tiles together......

Which fit together on all sides.

I'm hoping that my next tile will be much quicker to make, mainly because I'm done building shacks....although I do feel that the settlement would benefit from an apothecary to patch up those who inevitable lose their footing......Hmm.....Sawbone Sally's for all your medical needs......

Until next time......may Our Lady grant you her number ;-)

    1. 12" mate, so only another 14 to go! (I'm aiming for a 4'x4' board)
Fortunately, many of them will have very little on them so that I can place the Shadow Wars terrain on them.
It's taking a while at the moment because I have this vision in my head of a settlement where the locals live and House Escher can claim for their territory.
Basically, I'm trying to incorporate as many story hooks into the terrain as I can to tempt Rob out of his dormancy.....that and I really enjoy building terrain ;-)

Great job! Personally reminds me of certain atmosphere of Sergio Leone-style Westerns ... A nice place for a gleeful shoot-out between friendsπŸ˜„

And why should you? This is the figment of your imagination and needs to satisfy her. .. And mine was intended as a compliment, not as a criticism, my friendπŸ˜„

  6. Great looking terrain, Gary. :-)

A "Path to Glory" for Chaos Space Marines in print would be asesome. It would help quite a few budding Aspiring Champions to get their warband on the move, in practice as well as in paint form. Cheers.

  7. Second tile looks awesome, I thought you had forgotten about this project. Now that you have a Winchester, what about an arbites building? Got to take care of the drunks somehow and what better way than the fuzz 😁😁

Now I must resist calling this settlement the World's End ;-)
